A few hours at Heald Green in Stockport, Greater Manchester. It is on the Styal line but most trains that pass through here are either to or from Manchester Airport towards Manchester Piccadilly. Very few trains go beyond towards Crewe. イギリス北部のグレーターマンチェスター州の南に位置するヒールドグリーンで鉄道観察。ここを通るほとんどの列車はマンチェスター国際空港と付近の街を結んでいる。

Observations at Deansgate (Part 2) ディーンズゲート駅で鉄道観察（パート２） Deansgate (DGT) is a railway station located in Manchester City Centre in North West England. Originally opened in 1849 by the Manchester, South Junction and Altrincham Railway as 'Knot Mill and Deansgate' and adopted its current name in 1971. Today, even though services from various companies run through this station, only services run by Northern regularly stop here. Despite this, this station is connected to Metrolink's Deansgate-Castlefield tramstop via a foot bridge. The neighbouring Manchester Oxford Road station (MCO) is so close that from the platform, you can see the trains departing Oxford Road station as the two stations are linked by a nearly perfect straight line. イギリス、マンチェスター市内中心部に位置するこのディーンズゲート駅（DGT)は1849年にManchester, South Junction and Altrincham鉄道のもと'Knot Mil and Deansgate'として開業し1970年に今の駅名に変わった。 現在この駅を多くの鉄道会社が利用（通過）するが実際停車して乗客を乗せるのはNorthern（ノーザン）鉄道のみだ。そのため隣のマンチェスター・オックスフォードロード駅（MCO)と比べ、年間利用者数はおよそ20分の１の39万人程度だ。にもかかわらずこの駅はメトロリンク路面電車のDeansgate-Castlefield駅に隣接していて結構便利だ。 オクスフォードロード駅・ディーンズゲート駅間は約550メートルの直線で結ばれていて、ホームからは隣の駅を出発するのを見ることができる。

Safety First. Horn of anger at careless passengers. 安全第一。危険な行動に怒りの警笛！（英国）

It is crucial to make sure you don't put yourself or others in danger, especially on station platforms. A couple of youths here were being far too close to the platform edge for a train to pass at more than 60mph. They thought this train was stopping as the announcement said that a train that stops here was arriving. However, the announcement was referring to the train right behind this one. Remember to always stay well behind the edge when trains are approaching, up until the yellow line at the very least. If you come in contact with the train, it will most definitely hurt you but it may also hurt others on the platform as you are flung towards the direction of travel.
