It’s been too long! I used to live right next to this hawker Center in Tiong Bahru 5 years ago. Really excited to see all of my fav stalls unchanged - Pork rib prawn noodle, Lor Mee and vegetarian beehoon stall. I had very different life back then in a shared apartment with 2 other girls. I used to eat here few times a week for easy dinner post yoga. I was so sentimental visiting my old neighbourhood and also shocked that I live in this city nation for over 8 years! 昔住んでいたチョンバルの、ホーカーセンターを久々に訪れた。数年ぶりにも関わらず、好きだったお店が何も変わらずに賑わっていたのはすごく嬉しかった。エビとポークリブのヌードルスープ、ローミー、ベジタリアンのビーフン屋さん等など、懐かしすぎて全部食べた。5年前、シェアハウスに2人のシェアメイトと住んでいた時、週に数回はヨガ後の夜ご飯を食べに来てたのが信じられないぐらい昔の様な気がして、とても懐かしく、センチメンタルな気分になってしまった。

|| SOUND ONLY || Jazz in the rain: Sunday 5:30PM, April 2023 : Botanic Garden, Singapore
On the international Jazz day 2023, we went to the outdoor jazz concert in Botanic garden with a full picnic gear. A basket, a sandwich and wine and EVERYTHING. As soon as the concert started, here comes the thunder storm and started to rain, quite heavily….strong winds were blowing, obviously a lot of people had to leave, which makes me sad for the band! We stayed on the whole concert (a lot of people did too!) and it was SO GOOD! Such a memorable evening. Not to mentioned, we got SOAKED. 国際ジャズデーの野外コンサートを観に久々のボタニックガーデンへ。ピクニックバスケットからサンドイッチ、ワインまで張り切って用意して行ったのに、コンサート開始早々雷の音から始まり雨が降り出し、その雨足は強くなる一方。強い風もふき出し、足早に帰る準備をしだす人々。しょうがないよな、と思いつつ、雨足弱まるかもという淡い期待のもと結局最後まで残ってコンサートを満喫しました。もちろん全身ずぶ濡れになったけれど、他多数残った人々と共に、シンガポールらしからぬ大雨の中で音楽を聴くという野外フェスのような体験にちょっとワクワクした日曜日でした。

This little bakery cafe MADU in Racecourse Rd has really yummy sandwich and savoury bread and pastries that are perfect for a weekend light brunch. Coffee as well as cute shophouse neighbourhood is also GOOD! レースコースロードにあるMADUベーカリーカフェは、サンドイッチやお惣菜パンがとってもおいしく、リトルインディア付近に用事がある際に時々訪れます。ショップハウスが立ち並ぶ、静かだけれども賑わっている佇まいも、コーヒーも美味しくお気に入りです。

Spotted birdsinging in the quiet backroad of science park, two guys are enjoying looking at their birdcages (at lease 6 of them) and listening their birds singing harmoniously with wild birds and insects in the woods. Birdsinging is a traditional Singapore hobby and used to be very popular in 60 - 90’s. 籠の中の鳥の歌声を嗜む、バードシンギングというシンガポールの伝統的な趣味を楽しむおじさん2人を散歩の途中に見かけた。森に面した静かな小道に、6−7つ以上のカゴを木に吊るし、大きな森に住む多種多様な鳥や虫達の歌声と共に、朝の太陽を浴びながらかごの中の鳥達は元気いっぱいに囀っていた。

The newest MRT line, Thompson East Coast Line was opened at the end of 2022. Brand new trains, platforms and stations make me feel like I am a traveler in this country. Also, every MRT line has different sounds and I am wondering why that is… 2022年の年末に開通したばかりのトンプソンイーストコースト線。北はマレーシアとの国境チェックポイントのウッドランドから、まだ未開通ではあるけれど将来的にチャンギ空港へ繋がる予定。新しい車両、ホーム、そして駅の構内は、なんだかシンガポールを旅で訪れているかのような錯覚に陥る。そしてどのMRTも線が違うと車内で聴こえる音が違うような気がするのは何故なのだろう。

This was my go to florist when I lived near by. They will make a cute bouquet with flowers of your choice and your own budget. The market on the 1st floor sells EVERYTHING - fruits and veggies, meat and fish, daily household goods, clothes, alteration tailors and few florists, always very busy with locals, helpers and expats. I love lively vibe of this market. 昔近所に住んでいた時、この花屋さんをよく利用していた。好きな花とバジェットに合わせて可愛い花束を作ってくれるのでちょっとした贈り物に重宝していた。このマーケットは生活に必要なもの全てが売っている。野菜果物、肉魚、生活雑貨、洋服お直ししてくれるテイラー、そして仏具店やいくつかの花屋さん。ローカル、ヘルパーさん達、そして在シンガポールの外国人など買い物客でいつも賑わっている。

In December 2016, I booked cheapest flights back to Tokyo with Vietnam airline and I did lay-over in Hanoi. It was the best lay-over meal with AMAZING Bun Cha. 2016年12月のクリスマス休暇、直前に航空券を予約したので直行便は全て15万円越え。仕方なくシンガポールからベトナム経由で東京へ激安（確か4万円以下）の航空券を買ったので、ハノイで一晩ストップオーバーをした。東南アジアとはいえ北に位置するハノイは、思っていた以上にひんやりと涼しく、夜にベトナム北部のつけ麺ブンチャと春巻、ビールを道端で頬張ったのは最高のご馳走だった。

|| SOUND ONLY || Little Thailand: Sunday 3:30PM, March 2023 : Thai supermarket , Singapore
I had my last shopping at Thai supermarket in Golden Mile Complex before its closure. I bought Thai herbal soap (Madam Heng!), fish sauce, green curry paste, spring role skin. I can find these things at a normal supermarket, but the selections are the best here! It was fun place to walk around the aisles wondering all these fun looking condiments and noodles! タイの懐メロが爆音で流れる中、おそらく閉店前最後になるだろうお買い物をしにきました。タイのハーブ石鹸とナンプラー、生春巻きの皮、グリーンカレーの素など。普通のスーパーでも買えなくはないけど、さすがタイ専門スーパーだけあって種類が豊富！ぶらぶらするだけでも楽しいスーパーでした。ここがなくなってしまうのは、やっぱり寂しいです。
