Showko is a Japanese actor, comedian, ventriloquist, and rakugo performer based in Melbourne, Australia. She blends traditional Japanese storytelling with modern comedy and ventriloquism. Trained in the Lee Strasberg Method, she plays Kimie in the feature film Saccharine, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival. Her performance was praised by Variety as “fine” and “touching.” An international ventriloquist and the only professionally trained rakugo performer living outside Japan, she performs worldwide and reached the semi-finals of Australia’s Got Talent.
