2021 San Francisco Marathon
Finished my fourth SF marathon, which is also my first officisl marathon after the pandemic! I usually don’t film marathon races as I so much focus on running fast, but that’s not true this time! It allowed me to experience the race in waaaay more enjoyable way than before 🥰 Enjoy spectacular views of Bay Area, though this is not “in the middle of nowhere” thing at all lol! 2022 Kodiak Ultra Marathon 100 Mile
Finished Kodiak Ultra Marathons 100 Mile in 35 hours!! This is my 3rd 100 miler and absolutely the toughest one!! I’ve been struggling with post-COVID weakness and Achilles tendinitis quite a while so simply I’m proud of myself being able to finish this brutal course! Thank you the race organizers and volunteers for your dedications, and everyone cheering me up during the race!! Cheers 🍻 #kodiak #trailrunning #ultramarathon

My second RDL100, two years in a row. This is my first time to have a crew (local legends Kuni & Dasie Yamagata), doing an amazing job and making me super emotional at the finish line. Indeed the race was tough due to the rainy & cold weather and I'm proud of being able to finish...thank you Kuni-san & Dasie, and all who helped me on the way!! Rio Del Lago 100 Mile Endurance Run (my second 100!)
Finished Rio Del Lago (RDL) 100 Mile Endurance Ran, my 2nd 100-mile ultra marathon! Wished to break 24hr but obviously it was way off (27:15:27)...I was feeling great until mi 50, then my legs started arguing with me lol...I know this sucks but the good thing is that I met cool dudes, RDL Team Japan, all finished the race! I really appreciate this opportunity to meet Kuni-san who is the the real legend in ultras, as this race was his 10th RDL and 30th 100 mi finisher, at the age of 68 (yes he's nuts)!!!...I really appreciate Dasie-san for her hospitality too, which I believe is the key for Kuni-san's success...whatever, for me, 100 miles suck. 2021 Boston Marathon in the fall for the first time in 125 years!
Completed my 5th Boston Marathon, which was also my 24th marathon, 12th non-sub-3 marathon (3:10:51) and the slowest Boston Marathon ever lol!! This year was so unique as it's held in the fall opposed to the regular version in April, for the first time in the long history (over 125 years)! To be honest I prefer this version so much because now I got to know the fall in Boston is freaking beautiful! I really appreciate the effort of organizers and volunteers, especially this time when COVID is still there…at the same time you can easily tell the big enthusiasm of Bostonians, which never changes whatever the season or postponed situation is. I think this is the “Boston Strong” that always fascinates me and motivates me to come back here every year...well, this time I missed BQ (Boston Qualification; 3:10:00 for my age group) for the first time by the way…simply because I didn't train enough but drank beer pretty enough instead lol. Backbone Trail Run w/ Mauricio Puerto
Joined Mauricio’s 8th run of his 12-Backbone Trail (BBT; 68 miles 13,000 elev gain) Challenge 2021!! This was my 3rd BBT (1st: 10/2/20 dropped at Mile 41, 2nd: 11/7/20 24:22:40) and no doubt the best one ever! It was so fun to run with Mauricio as he shared plenty of his knowledge and experiences, and, indeed our speed was very close so we were able to push each other pretty naturally (so happy to find a great buddy lol)! It was super hot as anticipated, sunshine was freaking everywhere, but at the end the cloud sea gently embraced us 😘 So proud of myself finishing way faster (22:45:53) and stronger than the last trial, yes my ultra-running skills are absolutely improving! Mt Whitney out-and-back in one day - Snow in the mid July 2021!
Hiking Mt Whitney out-and-back in one day (16 hr)! Rain, snow, thunderstorm, and marmot lol. It was tough like the hell but still hope you enjoy it as I did! *All high quality photos are kind courtesy of professional photographer Taro Yoshida, and the kids on photos are @SuperHikingTwins !! 友人のタロウさんに誘われアメリカ本土で１番高いホイットニー山4418mに登ってきました。普通は途中2泊くらいして身体を慣らしながら登って降りてくるようですが、今回は弾丸。深夜1時に出発してからひたすら歩き続けて夕方5時に帰ってきました。眠気に頭痛、さらに雨雪風と戦いながらみんなで励まし合ってなんとか全員無事で帰還しました。動画にはないけど前後のキャンプもほんと楽しかったです。タロウさん皆さんありがとう！ #mtwhitney #mtwhitneysummit #mtwhitneyoneday

Bryce Canyon Ultras 100 Miler (My first 100!!)
My first 100 miler trail marathon completed!! This was a super tough race...I stupidly planned to finish in 24 hours and rushed at the beginning, but sooner I changed my mind to just focus on finishing in 36 hr (the latest cutoff). At the end, I made it (35:09) and was so happy with it!! If this was a standard marathon I'd be super disappointed with the time, but who cares I'm just happy with the fact that I finished the race!! What makes it different is that I got so many helps from staffs and participants on the way. Literary so many and I can't thank more. Without them I'm sure I failed. This ultra community is ultra awesome!! Thanks everybody!! Rapha LA “A Day In Hell” Paris Roubaix (long route)
