You order at the counter, and the focus is on high‑quality food rather than a fancy setting. Seating is very limited, true to the name “The Standing Room.” Many people take their food to go and enjoy it on nearby benches or along the beach, which fits perfectly with the Redondo Beach lifestyle. The location is just a short walk from the Redondo Beach Pier, making it an easy stop during a beach walk, after surfing, or while exploring the area. It feels more like a neighborhood spot than a tourist restaurant. This time, I ordered a Classic burger with extra lettuce and a side of French fries. Simple, satisfying, and a great example of why this place is loved by locals. It operates as a kunsthalle, meaning it does not maintain a permanent collection but focuses on presenting cutting‑edge contemporary art from around the world. Admission is generally free, making it an open and accessible cultural institution in Dallas. The reason Yoshitomo Nara posters are available here is directly tied to the museum’s history. In 2021, Dallas Contemporary hosted a major solo exhibition of Yoshitomo Nara, marking his first full museum show in Texas. The exhibition surveyed his work from the mid‑2000s onward and became one of the museum’s most significant exhibitions. The posters available in the museum shop were officially produced in conjunction with that exhibition. They are museum prints that support the institution’s mission and are not typically available in Japan, which makes them especially meaningful for fans. Yoshitomo Nara, born in Aomori in 1959, is one of Japan’s most internationally recognized contemporary artists. Since then, it has grown into one of the most well‑known American steakhouse chains. The restaurant was packed and full of energy, with upbeat music and constant activity, which really adds to the overall experience. I ordered the Porterhouse T‑Bone steak, a generous cut that lets you enjoy both the filet and strip steak at once. For sides, I chose a house salad and fries, and added sautéed mushrooms and onions as toppings. Everything paired perfectly with the steak and made for a very satisfying meal. With the World Cup bringing more international visitors to the Dallas area, this is a great spot to experience classic American steakhouse dining. ご視聴ありがとうございます♪アメリカ・ロサンゼルス在住のアラフィフおじさんの日常を配信しています。 今回は、Los Angeles Marathon 当日の会場の様子をお届けします。 ロサンゼルスマラソンのゴール地点は、Century City の Santa Monica Blvd × Avenue of the Stars。高層オフィスビルが立ち並び、すぐ隣には Westfield Century City という大きなモールがある、まさに「都会のど真ん中」です。 42.195kmを走り切ったランナーたちが最後の直線に入ると、沿道にはたくさんの応援の声が響き、名前を呼ばれながら、力を振り絞ってゴールテープを切っていきます。この瞬間には、タイムや順位を超えた、走り切った人だけが味わえる独特の空気があります。 ゴール後はすぐにメダルがかけられ、完走者にはドリンクや軽食が配られます。周辺には音楽が流れ、DJブースやビアガーデンもあり、達成感と安堵、そして少しの疲労感が入り混じった、ロサンゼルスマラソンならではの高揚感に包まれます。 ゴールエリアは、家族や友人と再会しやすい設計になっていて、抱き合ったり、写真を撮ったりしながら完走を祝う姿があちこちで見られました。携帯の電波は少し不安定ですが、その分、リアルな「おめでとう」が飛び交う場所でもあります。 スタートは歴史ある ドジャーススタジアム、そしてゴールはこの Century City。ロサンゼルスの街を東から西へ横断し、最後はこの都会的な景色の中でフィニッシュする――それが、今のLAマラソンの大きな魅力のひとつだと感じました。 会場は、世界中から集まったランナーの熱気でいっぱい。早朝から多くの人が集まり、音楽や応援で、まるでお祭りのような雰囲気でした。 今回は、そんな会場のリアルな空気感をお届けしています。ロサンゼルスマラソンに参加を考えている方や、海外マラソンに興味がある方の参考になれば嬉しいです。 --- Thank you for watching!I’m sharing daily life in Los Angeles, including sports, food, and local experiences. As runners enter the final stretch after completing 26.2 miles,cheers fill the streets.Spectators call out runners’ names as they push throughthe last moments before crossing the finish line.It’s a powerful scene—an atmosphere only those who have run the full distance can truly understand. Immediately after finishing, runners receive their medals,along with drinks and snacks.Music plays throughout the area,with DJ booths and beer gardens creating a celebratory mood.The mix of relief, accomplishment, and exhaustiondefines the unique energy of the LA Marathon finish. The finish area is designed for easy reunions,and many runners celebrate with family and friends,hugging and taking photos together.Cell service can be spotty,but that only adds to the real, in‑person congratulations shared everywhere. The Standing Room started as a small operation inside a local liquor store and has grown into a well‑known local favorite. You order at the counter, and the focus is on high‑quality food rather than a fancy setting. Seating is very limited, true to the name “The Standing Room.” Many people take their food to go and enjoy it on nearby benches or along the beach, which fits perfectly with the Redondo Beach lifestyle. The location is just a short walk from the Redondo Beach Pier, making it an easy stop during a beach walk, after surfing, or while exploring the area. It feels more like a neighborhood spot than a tourist restaurant. This time, I ordered a Classic burger with extra lettuce and a side of French fries. Simple, satisfying, and a great example of why this place is loved by locals. There’s nothing flashy here, but the attention to ingredients and flavor is what makes this place special and keeps locals coming back. Hakata Ikkousha was founded in 2004 in Hakata, Fukuoka, the birthplace of tonkotsu ramen. It is one of the most well-known restaurants representing authentic Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, famous for its rich and frothy pork bone broth. After gaining strong recognition in Japan, the brand began expanding overseas with the goal of sharing authentic Hakata ramen with people around the world. The Torrance location is especially popular in Southern California for faithfully recreating the taste and style of Japan. The broth is made by slowly simmering pork bones for many hours, resulting in a deeply concentrated and rich flavor. Its signature fine foam pairs perfectly with ultra-thin straight noodles, creating a classic Hakata ramen experience. This time, I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen (Standard Plus), which includes extra chashu pork and a seasoned egg — a classic and satisfying combination. As a side dish, I also ordered five pieces of gyoza. When ordering, you fill out a paper order sheet by circling your preferences, such as noodle firmness.
