Kenichi Shimazu
嶋津健一 1960年生まれ。 東京大学原子力工学科卒。 マンハッタン音楽院ジャズ科修士課程卒。 1985年〜1995年ニューヨーク在住。 その間グローリア リン(vo)、ジミー スコット(vo)のレギュラーピアニストとしてアメリカ、ヨーロッパ等で幅広く活動する。 1995年帰国、向井滋春(tb)、原朋直(tp)、大坂昌彦(ds)等のグループに参加する。 自らのトリオで計8枚のリーダーアルバムをリリースする。最新作は「The Composers Ⅲ」。 リーダートリオで活動する他、能、ダンス、朗読、等とのコラボレーションも行う。 KENICHI SHIMAZU Batchelor of Engineering, University of Tokyo. Master of Jazz and Commercial Music, Manhattan School of Music. Lived in NYC from 1985 to 1995, performed as a regular pianist at Gloria Lynne's group and Jimmy Scot's group. Performed at various Jazz Festivals (JVC, Boston Globe, Nice, Stockholm, Vienna, Montreal, etc). Released 8 albums as a leader of his own piano trio., including the latest album "The Composers III".
