Sacramento, the capital of California—a city where even Arnold Schwarzenegger once worked. It’s about a 1.5-hour drive from San Francisco, and the riverside breeze feels amazing. Lately, the Athletics have faced stadium aging and financial struggles in Oakland, so they’re currently using this minor league park as their temporary home. This is a legendary franchise—home to the "Bash Brothers" and Rickey Henderson, with multiple World Series titles. That’s why it’s so heartbreaking for fans back in the Bay Area to see the team leave Oakland after all these years. They are truly grieving the move. With the team set to move to Las Vegas in 2028, I came here to witness this "too-close-for-comfort" chapter of MLB history. The stadium has a great vibe, with grass seating in the outfield. Those spots are about $25. I grabbed a seat near the field for $37. At Dodger Stadium, you couldn’t get this close even if you added another zero to the price! I’m totally satisfied. Got myself a hat at the shop too. Yeah! The Athletics currently have the 29th lowest payroll in the league. Their budget is on a different planet compared to the $400 million Dodgers. Yet, thanks to the explosive play of young power hitters like Shea, they’re currently leading the division! It’s like a modern-day Moneyball. On the Guardians' side, all eyes are on Jose Ramirez—an AL MVP regular now that Ohtani has moved to the NL. By the way, the team was originally the "Indians," but they changed the name in 2022 to respect Indigenous peoples, naming themselves after the local "Guardians of Traffic" statues. The game was a total blowout by the home team! The crowd was electric. I ended up befriending the guy sitting next to me; we were snacking on pistachios and sunflower seeds the whole time. By the end, our feet were covered in shells. I peeked into the dugout, and it was exactly the same. That’s the true MLB style. Today was such a blast! Major League Baseball is the best—if you get the chance, you’ve got to come experience a game for yourself!
